A series of forms that grew out of an interest in two processes: the fermentation of sourdough and the curing of concrete.

Both sourdough bread and concrete share a utilitarian nature and an ancient history. Yet both remain prevalent in our contemporary landscape.

As combinations of simple ingredients and intimate care, sourdough bread and concrete stand adjacent to each other.

Sourdough incorporates starter, salt, flour, and water to craft a loaf of bread. In this process, the water evaporates due to the heat of the oven to form the loaf. While concrete utalizes cement, sand, and water to form a sturdy building block. In this process, the water hydrates the compound to strengthen it.
